9.8 How to Create a Trial Exam

A trial exam is a mock or practice exam. Students use it to become familiar with the exam interface before a real exam. Its marks do not count toward the course weightage. In this example, the trial exam Sample Practice Trial Exam is created for Sample Course.

1. On the Exam Listing screen, select "إضافة اختبار جديد".

الـ "إضافة اختبار جديد" wizard opens (see section 9.4.1).

1. Under Select Exam Type, select Trial Exam.
2. "اختر" Classical Exam أو Equivalent Exam.
3. "اختر" "التالي".

الـ Select Course step opens.

1. Select the course.
2. "اختر" "التالي".

Your Selection displays Single Course – Trial Exam – Classical Exam. A trial exam has no assessment type.

1. Under وضع الاختبار, select Online, Offline + Transit أو بدون انترنت.
2. "اختر" "التالي".

الـ إدارة الاختبارات screen opens on the تفاصيل الاختبار tab.

1. Complete the تفاصيل الاختبار tab, for example with the title Sample Practice Trial Exam.
2. On the أسئلة تجريبية أو تقييمية sub-tab, enter the Exam Total Marks, علامات النجاح و Number of Questions Required. A trial exam has no weightage.
3. "اختر" "حفظ الإعدادات والانتقال للتالي".

الـ Blueprint sub-tab opens.

1. Add the items with or without a blueprint (see sections 9.4.5 و 9.4.7).

A trial exam uses formative items by default. To also use summative items, select Include Summative Items in the blueprint, Include Summative Items Also in the Select Item Types popup, or تقييمي أو كلاهما under أسئلة تجريبية أو تقييمية in the item criteria.

1. Complete the remaining tabs (see sections 9.4.8 to 9.4.11).
2. On the Schedule Exam tab, select Availability Based Exam, and enter the start and end dates and times, the مدة الاختبار and the Exam Upload Time (see section 9.4.12).
3. Save the exam and publish it (see sections 9.4.13 و 9.4.14).

The trial exam is listed on the تم النشر" tab, and students can start it at any time within the period.
