9.4.3 Exam Construction Tab

الـ بناء الاختبار tab contains three sub-tabs: أسئلة تجريبية أو تقييمية (the weightage and marks), Blueprint (the optional plan of the exam items) and الأقسام (the division of the exam items).

9.4.4 Assessment Type Sub-tab

1. اختر الزر بناء الاختبار tab (1).

1. في Weightage In Course (%) (4), enter the weightage of the exam, that is, the percentage of the final course grade that this exam is worth, for example 10. It cannot exceed the Remaining Weightage (%) displayed at the top right (3), which is the part of the course grade not yet assigned to other assessments.
2. Enter the Exam Total Marks, the علامات النجاح and the Number of Questions Required (4). All are required.
3. "اختر" "حفظ الإعدادات والانتقال للتالي" (5).

9.4.5 Blueprint Sub-tab

A blueprint is a plan of the exam content: it defines how many items (questions) of each item type the exam contains for each course learning outcome (CLO). From the blueprint, the system selects suitable items from the item bank automatically. The blueprint is optional; to select the items yourself, select Skip BluePrint (3) and add the items on the إدارة الاختبار tab.

• (1) Select Primary Criteria: The main criterion of the blueprint, for example CLOs.
• (2) Add Secondary Criteria: Adds a second criterion.
• (3) Skip BluePrint: Continues without a blueprint. The Select Item Types popup opens; select the item types, and add the items on the إدارة الاختبار tab.
• (4) Total Required Items: The number of items in the exam. Select حفظ after you change it.
• (5) Add CLOs, Add Item Types: Add the CLOs and item types to the blueprint.
• (6) Create Section For Each Item Type, Include Previously Used Items: Place the items of each item type in a separate section; also use items from earlier exams (otherwise only unused items are selected).
• (7) Legend: Red rows have fewer available items than required; green rows have enough items.

1. Verify Select Primary Criteria (1), for example CLOs.
2. Verify Total Required Items (4). If you change it, select حفظ.
3. "اختر" Add CLOs (5).

1. Select the check box (1) of each CLO that the exam covers, or Select All.
2. "اختر" "اختر" (2).

The CLOs are added to the blueprint.

1. "اختر" Add Item Types (8 in Figure 9-9).

1. Select the check box (2) of each item type to include, or Select All (1). Item types marked Items Not Available have no items in the bank and cannot be selected.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the popup, and select "حفظ الإعدادات والانتقال للتالي".

The item types are added to the blueprint.

1. For each CLO, enter the number of items of each item type. The number after / is the number of available items.
2. When Selected / Available Items displays the required number, select Generate Exam.

The exam items are generated, and the الأقسام sub-tab opens with a Default Section. The latest copy of each item is included.

9.4.6 Sections Sub-tab

A section is a part of the exam, for example Section A for theory and Section B for case studies. Each section receives a share of the exam marks and, optionally, its own time limit. Sections are optional: to keep the exam as one part, go directly to step 12.

1. اختر الزر الأقسام sub-tab, if it is not already open.
2. To divide the exam, select the Divide Exam Into Sections check box (1).

The section fields are displayed.

1. Optional: to give each section its own time limit, select Enable Time Based Sections (2).

A confirmation message opens.

1. "اختر" نعم.

The time fields are displayed: Time To Solve Each Item (3), مدة الاختبار (4) and الوقت (7).

1. Time-based sections only: in مدة الاختبار (4), set the total exam time in hours and minutes.
2. "اختر" تحديث, next to مدة الاختبار.

The exam duration is saved. To set a time for each item instead of each section, select Time To Solve Each Item (3).

1. في العنوان (6), enter the name of the section, for example Section A – Morning Group.
2. في Percentage % و الدرجات: (6), enter the share of the exam percentage and marks for this section.
3. Time-based sections only: in الوقت (7), enter the time of the section in minutes and seconds.
4. "اختر" حفظ (8).

The message Section has been created successfully! appears, and the section is added to the sections list (9). Available Percentage و Available Marks (5) display what is left to distribute.

1. Repeat steps 7 to 10 for each section, until Available Percentage و Available Marks (5) are 0.
2. "اختر" "حفظ الإعدادات والانتقال للتالي" (10).
