During the Exam

9.1 The Exam Screen

When preparation is complete, the exam opens automatically.

The exam screen includes the following:

• The top bar shows the remaining time, the warning and chat icons, and the camera and connection status.
• The progress bars show the number of items answered and the time used.
• The question panel on the left lets you go to any question.
• Text size + and – change the size of the question text.
• Tools opens the calculator and whiteboard, and الملخص opens the answer sheet.

9.2 Exam Screen Icons and Controls

The top of the exam screen shows the exam status, monitoring indicators, and the main controls. The numbers below match the numbers in the figure.

1. الوقت المتبقي: shows the time remaining in the exam.
2. Extended Time: displays any additional time added to the exam by the instructor. If the updated time is not received automatically, tap the "مزامنة" icon to update it. 
3. Warning: displayed when suspicious activity is detected. Tap it to view the Violation Limit Warning. See chapter 10.
4. Chat with Proctor: sends a chat request to your proctor. See section 9.6.
5. الكاميرا: shows that your camera is active and recording for proctoring.
6. Server Connected: Indicates that the application is successfully connected to the exam server.
7. Student Name: shows the name of the signed-in student.
8. Tools: opens the tools available for the exam, such as the calculator and whiteboard. See section 9.5.
9. الملخص: opens the Answer Sheet Summary. See section 9.7.
10. الأسئلة: shows the number of questions answered and the percentage completed.
11. الوقت: shows the time used out of the total exam time, in minutes.
12. Section progress: shows the current exam section and the percentage completed.
13. Hide/Show panel: tap the arrow to hide or show the top panel and give more space to the question.
14. Text size: tap + أو – to increase or decrease the size of the question text.
15. Light/Dark mode: switches the display between light and dark mode.

9.3 Answer Questions

Read each question carefully and answer according to the question type:

1. اختيار من متعدد: select one option.
2. استجابات متعددة: select all options that apply.
3. صح/خطأ: select True or False.
4. إملأ الفراغ: type your answer in each box.
5. سحب وإفلات: drag the correct option into the answer area.

Some questions include images or audio. Tap the play button to listen to audio.

9.4 Navigate and Flag Questions

The numbered items in the figure below are:

• Question panel: tap a question number to go directly to that question.
• Flag: mark the current question for review later.
• التخطي: move past the question without answering it.
• Up arrow (top center): Collapses or expands the header area, which contains the section progress and timers, to give more space to the question.
• "التالي": go to the next question. Tap الاختبارات السابقة to return to the previous question.
• Previous (bottom left): Returns to the previous question.

Question Panel Colors

• Green: The question has been answered.
• Blue: The current question.
• Gray: The question has not been answered.

9.5 Use Tools

1. "اختر" Tools in the top bar.
2. Select the tool you need, such as Scientific Calculator أو Whiteboard. 
3. When finished, select the red X icon to close the tool and return to the question. 

The tools available depend on the exam settings.

9.6 Chat with the Proctor

1. Tap the chat icon in the top bar. The message Chat request sent is displayed.
2. Wait until your proctor accepts the request. The message You can now chat with your assigned proctor is displayed.
3. Tap the chat icon to open Chat with Proctor.
4. Type your message, and then tap the send button.
5. Tap X to close the chat.

9.7 Review the Answer Sheet

Tap الملخص in the top bar to open the Answer Sheet Summary. It shows all items by section with a color for each status: Not Attempted, Attempted (green), Skipped (red), and Flagged (orange).

Use the filters to find questions you need to review before ending the exam.
