Import Items is on the Courses menu.<\/p><h4>How Importing Works<\/h4><p>An import has four stages. Complete them in order:<\/p><ol><li>Download the template and fill it in with your items (section <a href=\"#73-how-to-download-the-import-templates\">7.3<\/a>).<\/li><li>Import the file into a course (section <a href=\"#74-how-to-import-items-from-a-file\">7.4<\/a>).<\/li><li>Check the summary and save the items for review (section <a href=\"#75-how-to-check-and-save-the-imported-items\">7.5<\/a>).<\/li><li>Import the items to the item bank, and correct the items with issues (sections <a href=\"#76-import-item-details\">7.6<\/a> and <a href=\"#77-resolve-item\">7.7<\/a>).<\/li><\/ol><div style=\"background-color: #f0f4f9; border-left: 4px solid #1e3a8a; padding: 12px 16px; margin: 16px 0; font-family: inherit;\"><p style=\"margin: 0;\"><strong>BEFORE YOU START<\/strong><\/p><ul style=\"margin: 8px 0 0 0; padding-left: 20px;\"><li>You need a role with access to Import Items, and permission for the course.<\/li><li>The course must have its CLOs, objectives, activities and assessment settings, because imported items are classified by them (Chapter 6).<\/li><\/ul><\/div><h3>7.2 Imported Documents<\/h3><p>Every import starts on the Imported Documents screen.<\/p><ol start=\"1\"><li>From the main menu, select Courses.<\/li><li>Select Import Items.<\/li><\/ol><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.innotech-sa.com\/ias\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Select-Import-Items.png\"><br \/><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18211\" src=\"https:\/\/docs.innotech-sa.com\/ias\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Select-Import-Items.png\" alt=\"Select Import Items\" width=\"1440\" height=\"989\" \/><br \/><\/a><\/p><p>Select Import Items<\/p><p>The Imported Documents screen opens. It lists the files that have been imported.<\/p><p>The numbers below match the numbered arrows in the figure:<\/p><ul><li><strong>(1) Search by Tag:<\/strong> finds an imported file by its tag.
