Create a Blueprint-based Exam
- Now, you are on the “Blueprint” screen. If you want to create a blueprint-based exam, only then proceed with this one. Else, “Skip Blueprint”
- Here, as you can see, you need to select the “Primary” criteria. The choice of selecting a “Secondary” criteria is optional.
- You can either select “CLO” or “Activities/ Topics” as a primary criterion.
- If you select “CLO” as a primary criterion, you may or may not add “Activities/ Topics” as a secondary criterion.
- Add “CLO” you want to attach
- Then, add the “Item Types”.
- You can select as many as you want.
- After selecting “CLO(s)”, and “Item Types”, you will see the details as depicted below:
- The “Available Items” number indicates the sum of questions included within a specific item type.
- The “Selected Items” number indicates the sum of selected items from a specific item type.
- If the available items are less than the required number, the item cell will be red
- If the available items are greater, or equal to the required item number, the item cell will be green.
- Now, select “Activities/ Topics” as your primary criterion if you want to add any activity to your exam
- Add “Activities/ Topics”. You can add as many as you want
- Now, add “Item Types”. You can add as many as you want
- When you are done with adding “CLO(s)”, “Activities/ Topics”, and “Item Types”, click “Generate Exam.”
- It will lead you to the “Sections” phase of the exam.
- Here, you can “Enable Time-Based Sections”, which means you can specify the time to solve each section.
- Besides, you can also specify “Time to Solve Each Item”, which means you can define the time to solve each item for every section.
- Now, enter the “Exam Duration”. It is the total time you specify for an exam.
- When you are done with “Assessment Type”, “Blueprint”, and “Sections”, you will be on the “Exam Management” phase.
- It shows you “Total Required Items”, “Total Selected Items”, and “Time Duration” to solve exam.
- You can “Distribute Solve Time”, “Distribute Marks”, or “Manage Exams” in this phase of blueprint-based exam creation.
Skip Blueprint & Create a Simple Exam
- However, if you aren’t creating a “Blueprint” based exam, you can click “Skip Blueprint” when you are on the “Blueprint” phase in “Exam Construction.
- You need to select “Item Types” to proceed further.
- Now, you are on the “Sections”, and you can divide your exam into sections.
- If you select the “Divide Exam Into Sections” option, the settings for “Enable Time-Based Sections” and “Time to Solve Each Item” will become available for selection.
- Now, you are in the “Manage Students” section.
- Here, you can “Manage” students according to “Sections”.
- “Assign” students accordingly.
- After assigning students, you are now on the “Locations” phase of exam creation.
