Assignment Management<\/b><\/h1><h2><b>10.1 Introduction to Assignment Management<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assignment Management allows faculty to create and manage coursework, such as reports and projects, that students must submit within a specified period. After the submission period ends, faculty evaluate the submissions, optionally using a rubric. Assignments contribute to the overall course assessment and have their own weightage and marks.<\/span><\/p><h3 id=\"10.1.1\"><b>10.1.1 Assignment Workflow<\/b><\/h3><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Stage 1<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Prepare the course for assignments. (see section <\/span><a href=\"#102-prerequisites\">10.2<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Stage 2<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Create the assignment with its dates, weightage and marks. (see section <\/span><a href=\"#104-basic-info-tab\">10.4<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Stage 3<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Optional: add a rubric for marking. (see section <\/span><a href=\"#105-manage-rubric-tab\">10.5<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Stage 4<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Assign the students. (see section <\/span><a href=\"#107-assignment-evaluation\">10.7<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)<\/span><\/li><\/ul><h2 id=\"10.2\"><b>10.2 Prerequisites<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before you create an assignment, prepare the following:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>An assignment session category<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: in <\/span><b>Settings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &gt; <\/span><b>Session Categories<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, add a category under <\/span><b>Assessment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with the assessment type <\/span><b>Assignment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, for example <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sample Assignment<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (see section <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.innotech-sa.com\/ias\/docs\/inno-assessment-qq\/settings\/#54-manage-session-categories\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5.5.1<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>An assignment activity type in the course<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: add the category as an activity type on the <\/span><b>Assessment Activities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> step of the course, with its weightage in the course (see the following procedure).<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>A published course with students<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: the course must be published, and its students added (see section <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.innotech-sa.com\/ias\/docs\/inno-assessment-qq\/course-designer\/publish-course\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6.14<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/li><\/ul><h3 id=\"10.2.1\"><b>10.2.1 How to Add the Assignment Activity Type to the Course<\/b><\/h3><ol><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open the course in the Course Designer.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Course Designer opens.<\/span><\/p><ol><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select <\/span><b>Assessment Activities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Assessment Activities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> step opens.<\/span><\/p><ol><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select <\/span><b>Add Activity Type<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A new row is added to the activity types table.<\/span><\/p><ol><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In <\/span><b>Activity Type<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, select the assignment category, for example <\/span><b>Sample Assignment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enter the <\/span><b>Activity Type Title<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the <\/span><b>Weightage in Course<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the row, select <\/span><b>Save<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The message <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Activity type saved successfully.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> appears.
