  • The blueprint phase is the second phase of “Exam Construction.” If you want to create a blueprint-based exam, only then proceed with this one.
  • Otherwise, there is an option of skipping it by clicking on “Skip Blueprint”.
  • Here, as you can see, you need to select the “Primary” criteria. The choice of selecting a “Secondary” criteria is optional.
  • You can either select “CLO” or “Activities/ Topics” as a primary criterion.
  • If you select “CLO” as a primary criterion, you may or may not add “Activities/ Topics” as a secondary criterion.
  • Add the “CLO” you want to attach, and afterwards click “Select.”
  • Then, add item types by clicking “Add Item Types”.
  • You can select as many as you want.
  • After selecting “CLO(s)”, and “Item Types”, you will see the details as depicted below:
  • At the extreme right, the “Available Items” number indicates the sum of questions included within a specific item type.
  • The “Selected Items” number indicates the sum of selected items from a specific item type.
  • If the available items are less than the required number, the item cell will be red
  • If the available items are greater, or equal to the required item number, the item cell will be green.
  • Now, select “Activities/ Topics” as your primary criterion if you want to add any activity to your exam
  • Add “Activities/ Topics”.  You can add as many as you want, and afterwards click “Select.”
  • Now, add item types by clicking “Add Item Types.” You can add as many as you want.
  • When you are done with adding “CLO(s)”, “Activities/ Topics”, and “Item Types”, click “Generate Exam.”

The steps outlined above illustrate how to create a Blueprint-based exam within the system.

Now, let’s have a look at how you can skip the blueprint phase and create a simple exam.

Skip Blueprint & Create a Simple Exam

  • However, if you aren’t creating a “Blueprint” based exam, you can click “Skip Blueprint” when you are on the “Blueprint” phase in “Exam Construction.
  • You need to select “Item Types” to proceed further.

Whether you choose to proceed with or without the Blueprint, the process will lead you to the “Sections” screen.

A separate page has been created for the “Section-based Exam.” Please refer to it for details.

The rest of the steps will be the same as a single (classical) exam. You may refer to the single exam for detailed instructions.
